Waardenberg Syndrome is named after a dutch opthalomlogist who goes by Petrus Johannes Waardenberg.
Waardenber Syndrome~
is a group of gentic coditions that can cause hearing loss and changes in coloring (pigmentation) of the hair, skin, and eyes.
For Example~
a person may have pale blue eyes or one eye blue and the other eye brown.
Waardenberg Syndrome is usually inherited in a autosomal dominat pattern, that means one copy of the altered gene in
each cell is sufficient to cause the disorder.
This is located on PAX3 gene which is located on chromosome 2.
Symptoms~
-Cleft Lip (RARE)
-Constipation
-Deafness
-White patch of hair or early graying of hair
Limtations~
-Difficulty with completly straightening joints
-Possible slight decrease in intellectual function
Treatment~
There is no specific treatment, but some of it is managable. You can use hearing aids to help the deafness you have and be on
a certain kind of diet to help the constipation. You can also use other sites to talk to other people with Waardenber Syndrome so
it is like attending a support group.

-Affect about 1 and 42,00 people
-It also affects 1 and 30 students
& there is not a certain population affected by this.
